What to expect when you arrive...

How do I find the Sleep Center?

  • Directions

  • We keep our door locked so please ring the doorbell and the technician will greet you and show you to your room.

What happens once I get inside?

  • Please be prepared with all the appropriate paper work in order (i.e. Your Packet is filled out completely, if you have an HMO you have your referral and or authorization with you. If you have a P.P.O have your insurance card ready).

  • You can then change your clothes and prepare for bedtime.

  • Take all your paperwork and have a seat in the backroom and the technician will explain what will take place throughout the study. This is the time to ask any questions you may have.  Remember the technician is not a Doctor so he/she may not be able answer all your questions.

What will you do to my body?

  • We will attach sensors to monitor your sleep rhythms. All the sensors are attached with tape. This is a painless medical procedure.

What are the accommodations like?

  • You have your own private room.

  • You also have your own thermostat so you can control your room temperature.

  • The technician will observe you from the technician’s room via remote camera.

When can I leave?

  • You will be released between 5-6 am. You will be able to drive yourself as  we do not administer any medications. Our goal is to duplicate your sleep at home. We also ask that you do not bring any overnight guests as our insurance will only cover patients of our facility. They may bring you, but, we ask they make their stay brief. They can return in the morning to pick you up.

When can I find out my results?

  • Your study will be scored and reviewed by our doctor for a diagnosis.  The report with recommendations is then faxed and mailed to your referring physician. This process takes from 7-10 business days. Our office staff will contact you to let you know your study results have been sent to your doctor and how to proceed from there.
